Sedona
Located at the mouth of Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona has breathtaking scenery, including the Coconino National Forest and the Red Rock Loop Rd. There are small inns found all throughout the city as well as large resorts offering every spa amenity one could dream of. A somewhat new age vibe reverberates off the red rocks of Sedona, making crystal therapy a mainstream thing. For the active visitor, golf, tennis, horseback riding, hiking, and plane, jeep and hot air balloon tours are available. The most picturesque way to access Sedona from Interstate 17 is to drive the Red Rocks Scenic Road (Arizona Highway 179). The two-lane scenic byway winds through the unspoiled natural environment of the high desert as it climbs to a 4, 500 feet elevation. Approaching Sedona, the road seems to suddenly round a curve and open to a vista of spectacular deep red buttes and mesas that rise to meet the vivid blue sky.
